This is an old variety that was passed down from somewhere so I do not have a name for it. It is an intermediate variety and the pattern is quite random, rather like tie dyeing .

Bought Tall "Peach Jam" last year, supposed to have random purple streaking, so far absent on all the flowers. I understand better if stressed a little - but not to death!
Ps in Canada, are your Iris still flowering, v.v. late June?

Yes bearded iris and Siberian iris are at their peak this week. Japanese iris are just forming buds.

Did I mention I have pods forming on some crosses I've made. At the stage where I am dividing some clumps and knocking the developing pods off surrounding plants!

Oh Siris you are on a very different level of iris care than me. I am just happy if one blooms for me and if it blooms a 2nd year it is a real bonus! I do have some pretty reliable ones though. The issue I had this year is with slugs attacking the irises. a Bud was even chewed off before it had a chance to flower. I dead headed the last of the bearded iris today and the petals had been chewed to bits.

No, Nancy I am only pottering for my own pleasure. When I grow from seed, I have nowhere to put the plantlets, because my garden is small and I want to grow everything. Oh, you seem so much later that the UK, but I live in the South, probably a couple of weeks earlier than the north of the U.K. Snails are more of a problem at flower height for me, and sparrows swinging on the stalks around any developing pods, because green fly collects around the neck.
