Midge= small Fly. Lays eggs in the developing buds. Lucky you if you don't get them in USA.

Today 3 July! I was hoping the Midge season was over. Not going to speak too soon, but a couple of different plants have not been affected yet, but Siloam Show Girl, quite deformed buds, was Ok last year.

Most of ours have the dreaded midge, even ones that were not infected last year......have been discussing it with Pollies Daylilies In the New Forest). She suggested we get more mid and later varieties, living in the South doesn't help....... typical!!

Dd, did she suggest some reliable later flowering Daylilies?

I will ask her, we are both on Instagram....so I get to see all her lovely plants.....
