We have apples!

They look fabulous...Love this time of year when everything is fruiting..picked a bowl full of raspberries yesterday.

I have wild raspberries and bunchberries and I have to stand in line. first the robins and finches...then the chipmunks and squirrels...then (occasionally) a bear. You never know who you might meet in the berry patch! I really must get serious about proper cultured raspberries and strawberries. Had plans for strawberry beds dug late last year but decided to leave it fallow for this season and start in preps this autumn for next season. Whenever I plan it seems the Gods dispense! I remember seeing blossom on some blackberry canes this spring..should head over there and take a look!
Enjoy your raspberries...may I suggest a raspberry sunset? it's a dessert with meringues, raspberry puree and cream cheese and a dollop of whipped cream. Lightly sweetened and perfect. Mmmmm. The only challenge is getting the meringues perfect. First few times I made it my meringues were tough. secret is timing and temp in the oven. They can be bite-sized or plate sized depending on your apatite!

Love the sound of the raspberry sunset...but we sat and ate them all before sunset...maybe next year...lol

LOL!... oh, that, I quite understand! One for the pail and two for my mouth!... my childhood maxim when picking wild blueberries with my Mom. ...blueberry quick step the next day!
