Where Ben and Shadow have such thick coat, the sun being out. I went into town and picked up cheap hard paddling pool for them today. Ben just thought what a big drinking bowl but Shadow had some fun.

Lol I did but Ben got it out and ran off with it. They are both ball mad. Ben was bred to go in the army but he was too soft, turns out he had medical problems and just was in pain. They breed them to be even more ball mad then normal. I've got football everywhere. If Ben has the choice between a ball or a treat, ball wins everytime.
:-).

Were you able to sort out his pain problem,
I have had a similar one for Jamie for several years but more the shape of a rowing boat he is able to lie right down in it,not that he is as big as Ben and Shadow.

Yes Brian but felt so guilty as didn't realise at the time. He had a undescended and due to being a big dog they don't neuter till they are at least a year old, so when we had him done he came home with 45 staples! They had had trouble finding the missing one. It was growing in a very painful place. Ben had been kicked out of the litter by his brothers and sisters and that was why the army rejected him and we now think it was due that the litter sensing he was in pain. At 2 yrs old he then got cancer in one of his back toes and had to have removed and now he has tightening of a ligament in one of his back legs. Vet says that soon they will have to cut it but it then regrows so will be a ongoing issue. He is such a gentle boy. Even sits there watching while the cat eats his dinner.
Paddling pool smaller then I wanted but it was only one could find that they couldn't pop. Love the idea of a boat shaped one. Bet Jamie loves that. Springers love the water don't they :-). Before met hubby used to take my 2 springers to the beach on Isle of Sheppey and had to buy a tide book due to if went when tide was out they would run through all the mud to get to the sea and then back again and then would have to put them in my car :-(.

Sorry Brian if you already know this one but another thing I do for the boys in warm weather is to freeze raw carrots then give to them frozen. They love them. Also did this when they were teething to cool their gums.

They get up to all sorts of mischief if they are given the chance.
Hope you are getting some money back on insurance,I find once they have treated an ailment they won't cover any more of the same thing ,think all Jamie is covered for is his tail.
The rowing boat came from a good quality childrens tot shop.I would like a real wooden one to plant up.
Had not heard of putting carrots in freezer take it they go in whole.
A friend of mine has a Shepard think he is six now who needed two hip replacements he took him to Noel Fitzpatrick (supervet )That was £5,000 each leg ,clever bit was he had an ongoing insurance of 5000 so they invoiced one on the year end of the policy and the second opp on the following year.

Depending on the size of carrot. If a large carrot will break in half before freeze. Found idea on a dog website for teething puppies and thought how with children you get teething rings that you freeze for so same sort of idea. Boys love them.
That supervet is amazing. Friend back in Kent went to him with their dog for same sort of thing as your friend.

He's having fun Jen. Toss a ball in there for the big guy. Dogs like pushing them around.
