They're so lovely. Are they in a lined wooden barrel lori? Think I can just see the planks?? I've bn meaning to plug up up some of my old cognac barrels, they used to be planted up so I driiled holes in them unfortunately, I wonder if corks would work stop the holes instead of having to line them. Whilst awaiting me digging the pond...next project!

this is an old wooden crate which has been buried in the ground up to the rim and lined with a heavy rubber pond liner. the water is completely from rain and snow accumulation...but I may have to add a few pails if we don't get moisture soon.

Yes, Sandra. we're watching all our lovely clouds go somewhere else to drop their moisture. Farmers are worried about corn crop failure.

I'll have the Armagnac police after me now, cognac apparently inferior stuff! my barrels were old armagnac ones as we lived in the area, they kept that lovely smell for a long time. Many a good memory of drinking armagnac under the stars!
