Still quite a way to go. The top borders have been sown with oriental poppies to have some colour over the summer. I'm in the process of trying to decide on roses to plant this area with. And in the centre off to the left I'm planning a pond. The terrace is still like a junkyard cum workshop.

Love all the Poppy's around the garden I'm always amazed how they pop up with such ease!

Thanks oliveoil and sandra. I got a new kind of poppy, its
Papaver rhoeas 'Cedric Morris. Terribly fragile looking and very beautiful, ranging from white to the palest pink and a perenial. I'll be saving seeds. I got the seeds from Herterton Gardens in Northumberland, a fantastic place.

I have all sorts but my fav is the big blowsy ones with loads of petals. Love putting them in a vase and watching them fall.

That's still up there but just now cedric morris is winning! Probably because it is such a contrast to the blowsy ladies! Aren't the seedheads of those just beautiful..

I do love the seed heads..we have lots I'm going to cold to for the wedding flower arrangements. I have also been eyeing up all the teasels.

They would be so lovely for the wedding arrangements sandra as would the teasels. The teasels here have survived, some of the few which I had supported, although all are at strange angles now, the seahollies were not so fortunate, quite a few broken off, and they were just colouring up, stunning metallic blue with the dark heucheras, which all escaped as they are low growing. Yes its a learning curve.
Good luck with the wedd. preparations and accept all the help coming your way. Just visualize being horizontal for the wedding! It would be such a shame if you couldnt wear your high heels now ?

when the pond goes in you'll be so surprised at how much wildlife will just appear. It's looking wonderful.

It is coming on though Resi, it will be lovely when its complete and you can just sit and relax and enjoy. Keep up the good work! Standard roses would look nice mingling in those borders and you would see through them to view the other plants, just a thought. Although they can be quite expensive.
