Crocosmia - Meteore

It is so difficult to work out which ones are which.......the only one I can be really sure of is my yellow George Davidson!!

I have that one Dd and I find it hard to tell apart from Columbus which is also the same colour, the only difference I have detected is the shape of the petal. The ones I bought on my visit to Caistor gardens two years ago are just starting to flower, lots of lovely colours only trouble is the labels have been cleaned out. Some of them are easier to id than others. I am also waiting for Severn Sunrise to flower, the buds are there just need the sunshine now. :O))))

I am hoping to buy some more, just waiting to see if they have any left........these are from Caistor, they have the national collection I believe...

they have lots and lots of Crocosmia. Two lovely people but no longer hold the national collection, too much paper work and form filling in I believe so gave it up. Do not think there is a national collection - well I cannot find one anymore. Went on a visit with Marjories a couple of years back had a lovely day together. Mark and Lawri were very good hosts and very knowledgeable about their collection. They post on GoY occasionaly under MrCrocosmia :O)

Oh right thanks for all the information.......It was a Mark that I sent the email to, what a small world found them by accident when I was looking for new varieties.......not surprised they gave up the NC must be very time consuming..... apparently they only have small quantities available and it is first come etc!! so not expecting miracles!!
