"Woodland" garden bed

I'm building this rather empty space under my magnolia tree into a "woodland" garden bed with lots of acid-loving shade plants. When we bought the house, this bed had a ring of shrubs around the street-side, but nothing other than a few hostas under the magnolia toward the house. I've added winterberry holly, ferns and a hydrangea so far, and hope to add bleeding hearts, toad lillies and more ferns next season.
