foliage of Bee Orchid

that was my thought,did wonder if it had stayed in leaf all year

No it didn't show leaves last year but they have a habit of doing this and 'moving' about.

I would love a Bee orchid in my garden , we had a whole area near us covered in Bee orchids but then they tarmacked over them to put up industrial units ,I was so angry I asked previously if they could dig them up with diggers to replace them elsewhere as I've heard of them doing this in other areas of the country but NO they wouldn't do it ...

I was tempted Brian even though its against the law ,I often walk round the fencing to see if any have escaped outside the boundary ... I have one Marsh Orchid given to me genuinely from another place ....

well they use their contractile roots to move their tuber about apparently. Don't thing they produce stolons. I suspect each season they form a new tuber and that is what 'moves'.

I went out to look at my Marsh Orchid after seeing yours Sbg its doing well and showing foliage I thought i would show you and have put a photo on as you thought yours was early :o)
