That's the rub, Stera!... it complicates everything.. but we're used to it.
the green house (which I covered with a large green tarp) was under about 2 ft. of packed snow, and the poly panels were sagging... I had to use my roof rake to bring the snow down or it might have collapsed under the weight, Sandra. bears repeating...I'm to old for this ....!
In the last 6 days the weather has swung again and we're getting a southern flow which has brought warm (for Feb) temps and rain. The snow on the top of the trailer has mostly gone... and the drive is a skating rink! Oh the joy!
yes it really is a long time, Karen. If you consider that we started with snow in late Nov/early Dec. and it just kept coming. Spring comes for us at the same time as everyone else...but our snow sometimes hangs around until May or June... making everything that follows late or delayed. We really needed the snow to replenish the ground water and help the forest regroup. We've had a couple of ice storms and lost the tops of a few of the old trees up the hill.
That's why I love Goy, Bjs! I can look at the European gardens, and cheer everyone on... while I fidget with impatience! LOL... :-)
