Brian - I bought this shrub nearly ten years ago from Blackthorn Nursery in Surrey (now closed) who stocked many daphnes. Robin White, the owner, wrote a definitive guide to growing them. He also released 'Limelight', a sport of this one, with cream/yellow leaves with green margins.

Similar to our Rebecca, but yours have longer leaves., our Daphne are almost over! and we are not that far away!

i visited Blackthorn nursey in its hay day very inspiring and made things I consider difficult to proagate look easy.
I have his book on Daphne excellent to refer to.

Brian - I'm not sure he raised 'Geisha Girl', but he mentions it on page 86 (I have his book too!)

I have 'limelight ' and I have just put her in the ground and the flower buds are forming.

this is a lovely form.
I must keep an eye out for this book. what is its title?

its on amazon price ranges from £38 - 74. so it will be something to watch out for.

Brian is right - it's out of print. I bought it from America using Amazon.

It surprises me how some books loose value quickly while others gain original price was £25.00

I'll scour the 2nd hand bookshops for a month or so then go online. It looks a really informative book. and as you 2 gentlemen recommend it, it must be worth it.

I'd say it's the definitive book on growing daphnes.
