in NTS Greenbank Garden 26.3.17.
An elegant cyclamineus hybrid bred by Alec Gray 1965. Long corona opens pale yellow and sharply reflexing petals are white, as the flower matures the final effect is pure white.

That is very nice thought it was two different varieties when I first saw it.

You are welcome Andrew. I have a special interest in Narcissus and enjoy finding their family trees when I can. Bjs we thought it was two different ones when we saw them but there does seem to be quite a few which change colour dramatically during their short flowering period. I find the shorter narcissus do last well in our windy garden. I bought N. Sailboat at NTS Greenbank Garden on Sunday. It grows to 40cm and produces two or three outward-facing flowers per stem in mid spring. They have pale lemon cups, maturing to white, with white outer petals that are slightly swept back.
