That looks lovely! What a wonderful gift.

I know several people who grow these outdoors, here. They get large steel drums, take off the top and bottom, and fill them with lava rocks and porous material. Then they put them in a wooded area, or one with fern trees.

Didn't know there are special orchid pots. After all risk of frosts, I put my Cymbidium outside under the carport. Some are in plastic wall tubs and some are in hanging baskets, which I suspend from the rafters.
