Thanks Karen and Shirley. I did have 2 in back garden but only won with this one. Well to be fair, other one was under old trellis that came over in storm Doris, and when we had new trellis put up, we had them remove all the plants there as had Ivy growning all through them and used that time to plan what we both wanted to put there. We also had the 2 trees growing I front of trellis removed so that is now our sunniest boarder.

You have lovely overhanging trees from your neighbours..good privacy and shelter.

On my neighbours side is only a never pruned buddleia, the rest are on my side, a row of 4 Damsons. Having trouble with our neighbours, along side just a bit along is my veg patch and greenhouse is their conifer hedge which they wanted to grow as tall as possible and even though I kept asking them over the last 20 months if they could cut if, (about 4 or 5 times), they would say yes then not do it. Finally got them a couple of weeks ago to agree to cut only a bit down to about 7ft in the middle :-(. Along the other side of my garden in a holy hedge that goes down their drive as their house is behind me which they have never cut the top of either and is now about 10ft high. Going to try again in a while and if still no joy will have to tell them about the high hedge act :-(. Really didn't want to. It's not as if I want to be able to see into their garden, i dont, would be happy with 2m that stated in Act it's just my garden is going into more and more shade due to their 2 hedges.

Oh groan...that old chestnut. I'm sorry to hear this Jen...I don't understand why if people don't want to see their neighbours they don't go and live in the country like me. If you have neighbours, then you have to make an effort to get along with them! And that means looking after and keeping any hedges neat and not too tall! I hope it doesn't turn unpleasant for you.

They are only a young couple and she has said would love to live somewhere with no neighbours but can't afford it. She doesn't work and he is In RAF. They managed to buy that house as it failed at auction so they got it really cheap. We have not fallen out, I can go couple of months not even seeing them but gave her my extra tomato plants and taken over a few bits of baking for the kids and Hubby. Funny thing is he comes from Pembury in Kent where we moved from. I did a Gypsy Tart which is very Kentish and he said hadn't had one since grandmother had made them so I made him one. There are only 3 houses here but our only one next to her. The hedge looks really silly now with a dip in middle. Bugs me everytime I look at it but trying really hard to sort it in a friendly manner.

Thanks Stan, I do miss the woods near my old house, used to love walking Ben early in the morning this time of year with all the bluebells and birds singing.
