Thank you Karen! We had a very chilly weekend. My tomato plants were turning purple and I had to take them in at night. I actually had to fire up the furnace again, lol! Now, it's improving. Today is sunny and more seasonable and will get better as the week progresses. I hope it moves your way.

I tried looking for this last year in the UK coudnt find a supplier , but I could find the seeds , so may be it comes true from seed ?

yes, sometimes it's called 'Coral Honeysuckle' or the botanical name 'Lonicera Sempervirens' also 'Major Wheeler' which I like saying.

"Lonicera sempervirens was introduced to England by John Tradescant the Younger (1608-1662), gardener to King Charles I. He visited Virginia to collect plants ‘and listed this plant in the catalogue of his garden at South Lambeth in 1656...."

Wow so my honeysuckle comes from royalty? That's wonderful. It belongs in the royal garden. Did John also find the Tradescantia plants?

Your honeysuckle is native to America and he found it in Virginia, and was brought back to the UK

"Tradescantia plants?" he amassed hundreds of new varieties ... I would have to look into but it just can not be coincidence , would make a good book with his travels around the world

Thanks for the background information. I hope you find one for yourself. I think you would be very happy with it. It's well behaved compared to 'Japonica.' and blooms all season long. It won't invade the neighbor's garden.

It is interesting Bathgate, that you say Major Wheeler is well behaved, as I have just read that it is invasive, as is japonica which I have and was thinking of replacing as japonica has got out of control.

There's a fine line between 'vigorous' and 'invasive.' Japonica is very invasive here as well. It will quickly take over the garden as well as the neighbor's and choke out everything in sight. This one is a vigorous grower, but nothing like Japonica. It has tons of flowers all summer long and is mildew resistant. I've had mine for 5 years and never had to prune it.
