That's a great story. I understand how certain flowers remind us of certain people & places. I have a certain red rose in my front garden that is from my grandmother's rose garden. When I see it blooming & I always think grandma is smiling down on me. It smells just like her house always did. She always had some craft lesson for me whenever I went to her house & a delicious lunch waiting for me with roses from her rose garden always on the table. One of those roses is now growing in my front garden.

That must be a very special rose to you and lovely that you still have it. For it to be scented as well is a double bonus, not only as a visual but scented reminder of your Grandma.

I have always loved lupins. As a child, my father grew them in our garden in England and when we came back to England between contracts I always knew I was home seeing them so have a real soft spot for them. When I moved into hubby's house and said about lupins, he said he had tried them there but never successful so never bothered. This year, with new house and area, I planted 4 Gallery Red and they are just starting to flower, I'm over the moon lol.
