I have wanted Lupins for years, they remind me of my childhood home. Planted 4 this year and this is the 1st to flower. :-).

Yes, it is paler then I thought it would be, got from B&Q, 4 for £10. Will have to look up tree Lupin, that sound nice, Masterpiece sound grand, hope you post a photo when it flowers. Grew up in the Tropics, but inbetween contracts came back to uk, so also have lovely memories of tropical plants, picking mangoes off tree and just eating them, as you say, shame we can't grow more.

wow! Lucky you..do you miss the heat? I absolutely love the Caribbean. We have been five or six times to St Lucia, and when we get off the plane I always cry. It feels like my second home. But sadly I could not live there..it's just far too hot for me away from the beach!

Some times miss the heat and used to really feel the cold but hubby hates it. Never been to Caribbean and would love to go but no chance with hubby lol. From age of 3 till I was 18 we changed country every 2 to 3 years. From aged 10 I was sent back to UK to boarding school but spent school holidays where ever my parents were. The longest I ever spent in one country was Brazil which was 5 years but that was in 2 different states. That was where we had Mangos growing in our garden :-). First country was Iran back in late 60s. Now I am happy just to settle down and not move lol.

Paler than my Gallery Red, but lovely. My daughter loves Lupins too. We have this kind, tree lupins, annual lupins...the whole gamut growing in her garden this year! I don't have a tree Lupin....yet! ;) But this year I managed to get some of my most coveted 'Masterpiece' lupins and can't wait to see them flower. But they have struggled against the cold since I planted them....forced in a tunnel you see...I wish we could get more of our plants grown in the UK!
