Second year of flowering, really tall, stands above the surrounding perennials and caught the Gall Midges. Picked off at least 5 distorted terminal buds and binned. Pity it's a lovely spider otherwise.

Gorgeous I wonder if garlic powder mixed with water dousing them would get rid of the Gall Midges like green fly does with roses.

Hi 3PB
It may work early in the season to mask the smell of the daylily ? , but its LIVING inside the flower not on the outside so would have no effect.

Gg, although quoted as a mid season flowerer, I have picked off most of the terminal buds as they were distorted, loads of clean flowers left.
Dd, my clump is covered still in flowers.

I moved it last year......so it will take a year or so to settle down!

Dd, Maybe with moving it, yours flowering later than mine, will have avoided the Gall Midge problem.
