Furcraea

I've been growing this from seed for several years now. The thing is the seed was sent to me as Beschorneria yuccoides but now that it has bloomed it is clearly not!
It is a Furcraea species!! The problem with Furcraea is that beautiful as they are they are monocarpic.

Monocarpic means that the plant dies after flowering.
It is producing seed and even better bulbils are starting to form!
I'm not sure which species this one is. I already have four Furcraea longaeva coming along - two from seed and two from bulbils.

Yes but the bad news is that they take several years to bloom before dying and so on!

Does that mean you won't be able to grow the seeds from this plant again Keith , sorry its a bit beyond me ....
