Ligularia przewalskii "Goldenray"

I have to agree its a beauty I had one but its disappeard.

I had a Desdemona (to go with the Othello) it is a little more red than the Othello and I thought it was lost in a spring deluge. found a small piece surviving downstream.. maybe you will find one somewhere. They seem quite hardy. It's like the yellow iris I lost in the same deluge...found it growing 1/4 mile down the stream a year later!

Thats great the Desdemona you found down stream is that Elephant ears plant.

No, I believe the name elephant's ears is used for Colocasia and calladiums... ligularia is sometimes also known as Senecio. the Rocket is L. stenocephata, L. przewalskii is similar with dark stems and L. wilsoniana has densely flowered stems, Desdemona is L. clivorum. After further reading I've found that Othello is L. dentatum "Othello" and also known as "elephant ears"... so live and learn! ;-)

Do we ever, 3d! I just looked back among my saved plant labels...and I found that I've been mistaken in thinking this was Rocket... it's not. It's the L. przewalskii "Goldenray". The main attraction was the black stems with the golden flowers... sorry! X-)

Lol Lori glad I am not the only one no need to be sorry we are all human . Rocket has black stems well mine use to so it would be very hard to tell the difference.
