the pond in the rain...

this photo is very dark on purpose... the rain was really coming down and I took the shot from under an umbrella! I wish I could send some of this moisture west to family in British Columbia.

Looks just like the summer here Lori! :(

It seems we've had a similar weather pattern this summer, karen. I don't like heat and humidity so I've been comfortable most of the summer. We did have a nice warm July and part of August with only a few nights when it was hard to sleep. The western part of the continent is going up in smoke though. It's so dry in areas that are usually wet (BC) Have an aunt in Sorrento who is worried about evacuation. It's been a worry for us in recent years...but not this year!

Lori, speaking of evacuation, my oldest friend lives in Florida Keys...she is currently in a car somewhere with five cats, a dog and her husband, trying to get somewhere safe...along with the whole of the rest of the residents of Florida. I have vowed not to complain at all today about the pouring rain! If I can manage one day, it will be quite and achievement!

I keep hearing that silly old commercial from decades ago: "it's not nice to fool with Mother Nature!"... I'm so frustrated with climate change deniers.
I hope your friend has good luck and the storm does not swing right and go up the Atlantic side. Sad for people in all the West Indies.. The storm surge is supposed to be in excess of 25 ft. ... I pray your friend can get far enough inland, but if she's on the road now she should be ok. It's tough to leave everything not knowing what she may come back to!.. :-(
The heat around the equator must be horrible and the warm surface water feeds the storms.. Delonix was talking about another El Nino (albeit a weak one) this winter.
By Friday, my aunt in BC should receive some rain..but the rest of the province is choking for rain too. Montana is declaring a fire state of emergency with 180K acres on fire!..and Texas is underwater!
