Your stream is running fast this year Lori!

Thank you, 3d. :-)
We've had enough water this year, Karen. the small stream dried up for two weeks at the end of August. It is running again thank heaven. Lots of silt in the pond...more backbreaking digging for me... There has to be a better way...but I can't get heavy equipment in to do it for fear it would sink to it's axles! In November I will cut down all the dried stalks of the eupatorium and the seed will disperse for next years growth.

I feel for you Lori. I am currently cutting down my wildflower strip and let me tell you...that's hard enough work! It all has to be chopped small with hand shears so it will go in the compost. But its really good exercise for your arms! :)

ah yes, Schwarzenegger arms!
My wrists give me heck when I use the weed eater for too long.
I wait until spring to rake up the autumn cuttings and feed them to the wet spot.. it will fill up eventually! Then I can plant some bog plants.
