Thanks Karen... we've been enjoying very fine weather.
Hi Bjs! yes they self-sow amazingly and they also spread by rhizomes. The basal leaves are very dark green with a red underside and heart shaped? tear-drop?...very pretty and produce a thick enough mat that they make an excellent ground cover even in dry areas. The can be cut back (lawnmower) in mid season with no ill effects..they will bloom but not grow as tall.
