this has'nt flowered yet sid, and not sure on dividing or cuttings, so if you don't mind waiting i can collect some seed when it flowers - but as the name saggests, it flowers in autumn.

Good choice Sid, they are beautiful, and don't be fooled when it dies back into thinking it's dead. i humed and harred about digging it out in the spring as i though i'd lost it - it is very late in going back into new growth. and the books tell you it's annual or not fully hardy, but with a little patience its come back lovely and about 3 times the size!

THanks for the advice. I'm not sure where to put it now - my book says it prefers 'some shade' not I'm not sure how much shade that is and what time of year it expects it.....

well, mine is planted under the canope of a large tree, - not close to the base, so it does get plenty of sun, but it is in shade during the afternoon, but during the winter and early spring it is in full sun, as the possition is south facing and the tree drops its leaves. but having said that as i said before i thought i had lost it, it came back around the same time the leaves come on the tree so that it did have a bit of shade, so i would say that semi shade is best, but a bit of sun obviously has'nt done mine any harm, it's far bigger and better this year! hope this helps.

I think I'll pull in into two and put one half in shade under the apple tree and the other half in a semi shady place. One will be right then I hope!!

sounds like a good plan to me, mine has been relatively easy, even if the conditions are proberly not ideal for it, it seems to be quite happy.
