I looked outside today and saw my Mahonia leaves are all ruined with cold, my Escallonias all need to have dead cut off them as well. Its never ending. But your garden doesn't look tatty at all. When oh when will it be spring?!

Thanks for the nice comments Karen, but I know what you mean, the list of jobs to be done when the weather improves is endless isn't it. But my lovely neighbour has had a day off work today and he has cleaned all the dirt and moss off my back path while doing his own, looks like new. How kind is that !

Some sunshine would improve the garden no end Cinders! Michael pressure washed the patio, stepping stones, bird baths and garden ornaments two weeks ago and I fear, if this dreadful wet and cold weather continues, he will have to do it again sooner than he would like to!

I cut back my Passion flower this morning and was so cold when I had finished ... :o(

Amen to that. I've started my tomato seedlings off in the greenhouse, but I think I'll have to start again as its too cold for them.

Yes Shirley, sunshine would help such a lot. There is a lot of colour bursting out now, and a grass cut would finish it off.
I know what you mean Hb, re sewing the seeds, I have some ready and waiting, but I am seriously thinking about buying small seedlings and bringing them on,
Not going to bother with tomatoes, but mini cucumbers do very well for me in the greenhouse, so prolific last year I was able to keep the neighbors supplied as well.

So disappointing isn't it? really fed up with all this wet now.

I've tried to germinate cucumbers twice, in a heated propagator, but no luck so far. One more packet to try.

Oh dear......let's hope it's third time lucky!

Karen I have to admit I bought my cucumbers as plug plants. Worked a treat.

I've always done them from seed, but I think I'm just too early this year. Will leave the next packet till May.
