Spring is here!

Was going to say Keith...I am pleased to see that both my clumps of Lobelia tupa have come through the ground..nice big fat pink shoots. Thought they might have succumbed, but no..safe and sound tucked up under the mulch.

Pleione don't like too much summer heat.
L.tupa on the other hand does but as long as it is free draining they are surprisingly hardy too. What sort of mulch did you use?

Compost Keith. The contents of a plastic compost bin as I was ditching it. I don’t have the strength to turn compost in a big plastic bin, and it tended to get smelly when the sun shone. So from now on I’ll be buying in all my compost.

I noticed ours are on the way too, big and fat.....we used to grow that gorgeous Pleione about 30 years ago! a beauty.

You can't beat homemade compost Karen and it shouldn't be smelly. Get hubby to make you a proper wooden compost heap - you'll not believe how good it is. Hubby will also need to pee on it!!!!!!!
It's time to start again DD!
