Aegopodium podagraria 'Variegatum'

Aegopodium podagraria 'Variegatum'

This will make you cringe, it's ground elder!
If Beth Chatto is happy to grow then so am I. Ground cover for shade.

I thought it was ground Eldet! Hopefully it won’t take over completely. Scott has sprayed the green stuff under our hedge twice already this month, and its still looking defiant!

..having said that, it is very pretty, and if it werent such a thug I would happily have it in my garden!

I’ve given some of the ground elder here Roundup too. I don’t like doing it but sometimes you have to. Hopefully this variegated one will cover a grubby wet dull area in the woodland, lift the area. We will see.

We grow this in our garden, we just have to keep an eye on it....

Went with Dd, to her friend's NGS open day. He had this in a pot. It looked so super, I've stolen the idea, having (I hope) eradicated it from the border.

Reassuring Dotty. Good idea Siris, I might try that too when this gets going and splittable.

Unless they meets a barrier, the underground stems pop up 'miles away'from the original.

Omg, that's fine in the woodland though, thank you for sharing your knowledge, I didn't know.
