I'm 20 miles from the City, but only 3 or less from the bay. Warmer..but Pineapple growing warmer Im not sure of.
I did read long ago of somebody who was growing them in a brick planter here in town. But,did he get ripe sweet pineapples? it didn't say.
I know about a month from now,Im going to put apples right next to the plants and hope they give off enough gas to get a bloom going. I might not even wait the month!..its going to take all summer for them to grow I would guess.

good luck, Stan. I hope it grows well and gives you some nice sweet pineapple to eat. It's my guess that the person with the brick planter was taking advantage of the warmth provided by the brick... Imagine being lucky enough to have a whole garden wall like that? If I had one I'd have everything espaliered.
