Rhododendron 'Ptarmigan' - 2018

Wonder how it was named "ptarmigan"? just for the colour? Would it be hardy in my zone, Andrew? Zone N. A. 4a. Nice foliage too.

There are several small rhodos named after birds so I think the breeder was on a roll with the names. It should take -20C

hmmm... I might manage it with winter protection. If they do well in pots I could bring it in for winter as I do with my fig.
