Bulb for well-drained loamy soil in sun. It likes shallow planting to ripen the bulbs, the foliage lying flat on the soil. Of unknown hardiness (it is found on a small island off Sicily), I planted it in my bulb bed in autumn 2015; it is now flowering for the first time.
