They come in so fast that I sometimes don't realize they're there until they're long and woody. The first ones are the best...and we've had a little rain to help plump them up.

Glad to hear that, Amy. We have had more hot dry days with plump clouds going elsewhere... we have dried out severely, AGAIN. We keep getting teasing rainfall, not enough to wet the top 1/4 inch of soil. I just planted four young cedars and the soil was dry down to about 6 inches..carrying lots of water for them.
