Yes, I tend to leave my carrots in the ground and just pick them as I need them. That way they will stay fresh and the cold weather makes them sweeter. Inevitably some never get picked and come back as Queen Ann's Lace. The butterflies can have those since they're no longer edible.

And a new generation of butterflies :o)

LOL ...and we all need butterflies.
