Few homes are built, even on Central Avenue. Although the condominium was founded in 1951. With the environmental legislation it is forbidden to overturn araucarias (mokey trees) and xaxins (Dicksonia sellowiana), and more recently also the bracatingas. This makes it almost unfeasible to build on most of the available land.

I hope they won't pave it here. I prefer cobblestones although they produce more noise in the passage of the vehicles. Cobblestones allow better drainage of rainwater. Although they allow the sprouting of grass as can be seen in the photo.

I have a tree in my woods that is illegal to cut, but I have to keep pulling out the seedlings or they would take over. Every year the tree drops 100's of seeds and every one of them germinates.
Just about every street with cobblestones has been paved over, here. I was surprised when they did that in Angra do Heroismo because it is a designated World Heritage City.
