Took a fairly close-up pic of scale insects, or rather their protective shells

I'd like your photo Darren8, but scale. Ugh. Good advice from 3d. If you can find it a wash down with Safer's Soap also works...but scale is tough stuff. good luck, hope your currant gets better.

Thanks for all advice! I'm in the process of cutting right down & clearing any dead stuff. Neem oil on the GC shopping list

If that was me I would prune right back ot then . dabbing individual pests with an alcohol-soaked cotton swab or neem-based leaf shine will also work when infestations are light.
