IMG 7753- the walnut tree

Do you get many nuts off it Lori?
It look just like the Black or Golden Lotus tree that over hangs my garden.

Yes, it's usually covered with nuts, but the last two seasons the walnut has been troubled with spring army worms and drought. The squirrels are in heaven this year because the harvest is better. We have gray. black and red squirrels and they're so busy. They sit in the tree and chew the hard shells making a sound akin to fingernails on a blackboard! I gave up trying to process the pulpy nuts a few years back, it's just too messy and the stains from the pulp lasts forever.

How sad the worms are at it I ve never heard of Spring Army Worms you ll have to put a picture of them on. At least some one is enjoying them which is great. Never heard of grey black and red squirrels surving together the grey ones kill off our red ones here.

Can't same I blame you giving up with the pulpy nuts I think I would too.
