This is as level as I could get it.

Looks pretty level to me if it sinks I would place hard core and a hire a foot to compress it down then use sand to level that is what I have done years ago before laying slabs. Looks like your redesigning with the raised beds?

Yes I am redesigning with raised beds and putting shingle between. I've used a mixture of bark and soil and compressed it today. Just covered it with weed membrane and hope to put gravel this week once I decide on the type. I've never done anything like this before so I hope it works out.. I'm not going to lay slabs as I think that's a bit beyond my expertise at the moment. I will put up some pictures later. Thank you for your replies it's nice to feel supported through this project. :)

It's a lovely design I ve used weed membrane and gravel and when it's walked on the medium size gravel brakes the membrane and weeds appear. If done again I would use a dark thick plastic covering like a tarpauline and pea gravel on top as my son suggested the pea gravel as its small and if layered thick enough less light gets through if the membrane brakes. Good luck I shall look forward to the end result and we can see before and after photos
😊 Welcome to Goy.

Oh thanks for the advice I might put some thick plastic on top just not sure where the water would Go? I guess I'd need to puncture it. Thank you for the welcome:)
