One of my very few purple alliums to actually bloom in the garden, despite planting lots of bulbs. Extreme close up.

Hi Thrup, it’s one from last year. I’d posted on to the questions board also, in relation to the type of allium along with having planted 30 or more bulbs and only a few bloomed, even though prettily.
Thank you for your message x

I love alliums. They are so good for filling the spring to summer gap. I have loads of Purple Sensation in my raised border and I never get tired of them. I have a small group of this one as well...christophii I think. :)

Thank you Kate so it should come back this year too. Always place your bulbs on lot of grit and deep as if your ground has nt got wel drainage they will rot.

Thanks Thrupennybit, this is good advice. Thinking on it, some are planted in an area of not so good drainage. I guess I can lift and replant? :)

Your welcome Kate always check here or Google as some bulbs you plant on their side one has just come up which I planted on it side last year but I can't recall what it is but will soon find out I had planted one before not planting on its side and nothing came of it.
