Lori - it's a small woodland plant growing from rhizomes. It is a member of Apiaceae, the family with umbels (such as fennel) and is entirely unrelated to orchids

Hacquetia is very interesting ...is it an alpine or forest plant? does the "epipactis" mean it's an orchid?
