Othonna cheirifolia - 2019

Andrew, I like the look of this for my South facing front garden. I lost a Halimium libanotis which was planted in April 2017. It seemed to turn brown and die overnight!
Do you think this would thrive in Sussex clay if I add lots of grit/gravel when planting it? Also, did you buy it on-line or at a nursery?

Shirley - it needs very sharp drainage. I included lots of grit even for my ordinary soil in order to satisfy it. I think your best chance would be to add grit to your clay, then plant it in a mounded 50/50 mix of J.I. compost and grit in order to get as much drainage as possible.
I bought it at the plant sales benches of Waterperry Gardens in Oxfordshire a couple of years ago. It's probably worth contacting them first if you plan on making a special trip.
