I think the primula is a hybrid so it has had a helping hand to look that pretty. Intriguingly the leafy plant to its right has what looks like flower buds. I visited Branklyn Garden on the outskirts of Perth, a National Trust for Scotland property, while I waited to have my car serviced. I found out this is the seed pods of an autumn flowering colchicum. The gardener said to wait until those buds burst open to collect the seeds. I'm getting a bit slow on remembering names so will need to look at photos to find out which one this is. I have several autumn colchicum but none of the others are producing seed pods. The black twiggy bits you can see are part of the plant not fallen twigs as I had assumed.

Yes I thought it might be a hybrid but it's still lovely I seen these at Aldi but could nt afford any that week as I had to pay my bills.🙁
How wonderful the you ve discovered its an autumn colchicum they are stunning let's hope you find out which one it is. I had one but it did nt appear last year so I think mine must be a gonna. Do you ever see Marie Mad Perth I have nt seen her on here for ages I hope she is OK.

3d I live 30+ miles from Perth and I think Madperth lived north of the city so I never met her. She said in 2009 or 2010 that she had been accepted for a place in Uni but not seen anything since. I bought my car from a dealership there and take it back there to have it serviced. Their courtesy car driver dropped me at Branklyn garden at 10am and came back for me at 2pm. I had a lovely day out. Next day the SRGC Perth Show was on so I persuaded OH to go along to that. I was delighted to see Bulbaholic and Moongrower there. They were both looking very well. I was in a hurry so it was just hello and goodbye because I wanted OH to see the vast difference that has taken place since we were last there. He was too tired to wander around but we had a splendid view over the garden from a shady seat outside the new tearoom.

Thank you for letting me know you don't live near Marie (Madperth) also letting know she went to University. That was good of them taking you the Branklyn garden and you had an lovely day. I hope all went well with your car service.
That's great you and your hubby went to see the SRGC Perth show and you met Buboholic and Moongrower. Its nice when shows like this get better I can see you both had a lovely Easter brake. Did you bring any thing back from the show?

Oh yes. Lol I cannot resist buying something although I am trying to remember that I am getting too old to be expanding the borders at the expense of the lawn.

That's great you bought some thing back. I buy what I can put in pots now or an orniment for the garden.
