Lovely colour Derek. I’ve just purchased my first lilac this past weekend! Hopefully it will be as floriferous and pretty as yours!

Hi Kate, thank you, this is 1 of 2 in the garden, the other being on the other side of the garden opposite my big greenhouse, this 1 is in mostly shade, the other 1 in full sun, but both flower well every year without fail, they were both in the garden when my parents move in here 59 years ago this month, so I don't have a varietal name, just Syringa vulgaris, I'm sure yours will also be floriferous in the years ahead, Derek.

Wow! That’s amazing Derek! How lovely that they are still flourishing after all this time. I guess they remind you of your parents :)
