Lax shrub to six feet, best tied in to a support, requiring full sun and a well-drained soil. Flowers right through mild winters but killed back to ground level by cold ones, although it will grow back if well established

Ours eventually died, it was the variegated one, slightly more tender!!

I replaced mine last year but only because the existing one was running out of steam (old age I expect)
