Solanum crispum glasnevin (Solanum crispum (Chilean potato tree))

Close up of the chilean potato plant. Pretty lilac flowers with bright yellow centre.
Trying to encourage it to grow over the pergola. Not the most pliable of stems and branches!

Gorgeous are nt they Kate have mine at the top of the garden my favourite is the white one which I had but it died so I think its not as robust as this one as my garden is surrounded by a 6ft fence so it's pretty protected.

Thanks Amy and Thrup, we like it as it flowers for months on end. It’s definitely a nice addition. Go on Amy, get another one!
Shame yours died, Thrup. I haven’t seen the white variety. You’ve got me interested now!

I have a wild solanum that has taken hold of my composter!... I've never seen such roots! I've been pulling it out by the yard. The blossoms are similar but the plant is weedier... certainly not as pretty as yours.

Thanks Lori, saying that, it has to be tamed. The recent rainy weather has encouraged it to grow a bit chaotic!

What else?

See who else is growing Solanum crispum (Chilean potato tree).

See who else has plants in genus Solanum.
