expected to lose this clump of water iris

the water was so high and so fast this spring that it brought down lots of gravel and sand...and buried this iris...rakes some of the sand away and it went berserk! There is a bearded iris in the lower corner...??? nature planting!

i should be used to it by now, right? I still have hours and hours of work to do to repair the spring damage... not enough hours in the day.
