The flowers are slightly smaller and the leaves bigger on this species than many of the phlox available, but it is more tolerant of sun and dry conditions without getting mildew. This variety grows to three feet in height

For some reason, phlox amplifolia varieties are almost impossible to source in the UK, but more readily available in Germany
