One of the New England asters, growing to four feet

Yes, it is early for asters - I currently have two different ones in flower now. But we had an 'early' spring in the UK with temperatures of 20C at the end of February. June was cold, then very wet - I think many plants got confused this year!

Confused... yes. similar situation here, Andrew. but we didn't have the 20C temps in February! lol... April and May were like late winter and June was Meh. July has started hot..it's like someone is turning switches! Nice to see the asters in any case. I have an acre or so of ciliolate asters and they already have buds. I hope we don't have an attentuated autumn like we've had the last few years...

isn't it a weee bit early for asters? it's been an interesting season... at first it was cold and things were slow...then it sped up so much that late summer to autumn beauties are showing up early.
