Leycesteria formosa - 2019

I know this is a common shrub but it is very accommodating. Here it has been growing on solid clay for well over ten years and gets pruned to the ground every spring. I've never known it flower so well as it has this year

DD - do you mean leycesteria crocothyrsos? I saw it in a Yellow Book garden several years ago, but the flowers were quite small for the size of the plant

No not that one ......Formosa Golden Lanterns, it brightens a shady border! Cut it to the ground this year, has only just recovered!!
