just read that the fruit are best when it the peel is puckered and shrinking looking and the colour is an orangey brown. They say repeatedly that it's not as tasty as P. edulla... but what does it taste like..? like a Kiwi, perhaps?

Just saw the pic, Amy. very seedy, but is the taste pleasant? I thought of a pomegranite. I love the things but they're so tedious to eat. maybe crushing the seeds to produce the juice ...it could flavour meat (in a marinade) or be a rare jam or jelly. It seems sad to have a plant that's so prolific and not be able to use it's fruit in some manner.
