Edgeworthia (paperbush plant) (Edgeworthia crysantha)

Bought this plant in 2018, it doesn’t seem to flower so well..I have a couple of buttery yellow flowers on it at most. It does produce lots of nice leaves though, oval shaped.

Awe that's a pretty flower it likes Loam and well drained soil . If you have nt planted it in loam what I use to do years ago is dig a bigger and wider hole and fill it with loam or the compost the plant liked it likes alkaline soil.

Thanks Thrup, good tip. Our soil is quite neutral, although more on the alkaline side.

Hi Kate, it could be that it's still a young plant, some shrubs take a few years to establish, also it's only frost hardy to frost tender, and a severe frost can damage the flowers, Derek.

Thank you Derek, your info is most welcome. I don’t feel so bad about it now. I’ll have patience and see it grow each year.

I saw one of these in the garden centre last weekend ,it was a mass of flowers very unusual . I hope it does well for you ..

Thanks Amy, fingers crossed. It looks a lovely plant when it’s more settled and flourishing.
