It’s lovely, looking at the photo it looks like it spreads well? Are D formosa the ones to have to spread in a woodland situation? Thanks

Yes, the RHS Encyclopaedia calls it "wide-spreading." This was planted many years ago, but as it is under a camellia, it doesn't get enough moisture to become too rampant, although I do occasionally reduce it a bit
